Born and raised on Oʻahu, Ashley began traveling independently at seventeen, documenting people, places, and the ways families live throughout the world. Every place she entered and every person who trusted her with their story shaped the way she sees. Today, as a wife, daughter and mother of three, she understands how quickly ordinary moments become the ones we wish we could return to, and how often the person holding everyone together is missing from the photographs.

That perspective guides everything we do. KA‘I & CO approaches Hawaiʻi with local knowledge, care, and responsibility. We consider the light, weather, ocean conditions, access, permits, and comfort of every family member. Then, we shape an experience that feels personal to your family.

  • We recommend coordinating rather than matching, with colors that complement one another and pieces that allow everyone to move, play, and feel like themselves. Soft neutrals and earthy tones photograph beautifully, while neon colors and busy prints are best avoided.

  • We recommend reaching out as soon as your travel dates or family availabilities are confirmed, especially for weekends, school breaks, summer, and the holiday season. If your date is approaching, please still inquire. If there is a way to make it work, we will.

  • As a mother of three who traveled internationally with each of her children before their first birthday, Ashley created these experiences around what she always wished she could book while visiting somewhere new: thoughtful guidance, less time planning, and the freedom to be fully present with her family.

    Choose the ʻOhana Experience for a relaxed one hour session focused on your immediate family. Choose Generations in Hawaiʻi when several households or generations are gathering together. Our Signature Full Day Experience brings everything together into one thoughtfully planned day, including family portraits, multiple locations, and candid moments that tell the story of your family.

  • Yes. Heirloom albums are available for purchase with every family experience. You will select the photographs you love most, then we will design the album with you and guide you through the review process. Once approved, our trusted partner will bring it to life and deliver something beautiful to your home that your family can hold, revisit, and eventually pass forward.

  • Your full gallery will be delivered within 90 days of your wedding day. On occasion, we’re able to send you your  completed gallery a little sooner.


  • A content creator allows you to put your phone away without missing the little moments you would normally record yourself. While your photographer focuses on your finished collection, your content creator documents the laughter, behind the scenes moments, and pieces of the day in an easy to share format.

    Content creation is available exclusively as an addition to a KA‘I & CO family experience and cannot be booked separately. Because availability is limited, we recommend requesting it when you reserve your date.
